Does the AI write quotes itself?

Do we need customer data in the index?
For most uses, no. Product and sales documents are enough, and data protection stays simple. If you add personal data, settle the legal basis, permissions and retention first.
Where is the data processed?
RAGSuite Engine is hosted in Germany: platform, documents, search index and history sit on our server in a data centre in Falkenstein. AI processing in the EU/EFTA (Microsoft Azure): answers and embeddings are generated by Azure OpenAI in the EU Data Zone, within Microsoft’s EU Data Boundary (EU plus EFTA states such as Switzerland and Norway). Data Azure stores stays in Germany. For answers, your question, the recent conversation and the matching passages go to the model; when indexing, the text sections of your documents are processed for embeddings. With your own API key, questions and passages go to your provider. If you prefer your own servers, use the free Community Edition or Enterprise.
